High teacher-to-child ratio
At Bizzy Bees, we take inspiration from Finnish early childhood education (ECE), one of the best in the world, to ensure a nurturing and enriching learning environment for every child. This applies to the teacher-to-students ratio, where we follow the guidelines of the Finnish ECE:
For children up to 3 years old: A maximum of 4 children per homeroom teacher.
For children older than 3 years: A maximum of 7 children per homeroom teacher.
In addition to homeroom teachers, we have specialist educators regularly joining our classes—such as our art teacher, music teacher, and English teacher—which further enhances individual attention and lowers the effective ratio.
These ratios are carefully designed to support a student-centred, play-based, and interest-driven approach, where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and create. Through this model, on from our experience, children receive the guidance and nurturing they need to grow into confident, independent learners while avoiding over-reliance on teachers.
We also recognise that children may go through challenging phases where they need extra support. In such cases, we proactively adjust our ratios to provide individualised care. For example, rather than the usual 4 children per teacher for those under 3, a teacher may dedicate their attention to just 2 children if one requires additional guidance.
This flexible approach aligns with the principles of Finnish early childhood education, ensuring that each child receives the care and support they need to thrive.
