At Bizzy Bees, we celebrate the uniqueness of every child!
Each child brings their own interests, likes and dislikes, unique needs, ways of communicating and expressing emotions, responsiveness to various interactions, preferred learning styles, and developmental stages. Our educational philosophy and teaching approach recognise and embrace these unique traits to achieve the best developmental outcomes for each child.
Recognising the uniqueness of each child has many implications:
Connecting One-on-One: Our teachers strive to understand each child individually and create strong bonds. They observe, interact, and play with each child to get to know them deeply. This approach almost inverts the traditional teacher/child role, as our teachers learn from observing and communicating with the children.
Tailored Activities: Our teachers adapt activities, interactions, and communication styles to meet each child's individual needs. For example, one child at Bizzy Bees was often reluctant to sit for lunch. The teacher observed that the child valued independence and decision-making, so she offered him a choice: “Would you like the blue or the green chair?" The child beamed with a big smile and eagerly chose a chair. This approach worked for that child and might not work for another. Our teachers' experience and extensive observations enable them to find suitable methods for each child.
Continuous Development Tracking: Our teachers record the progress of each child, as well as the different approaches tried and their outcomes. Each child's uniqueness evolves over time. For instance, the child mentioned earlier, who initially needed a choice of chair colour, eventually no longer required this option after a few months.
Understanding each child allows our teachers to be more attuned to their emotions and needs, resulting in better developmental outcomes and happier children.
